Access to Rumkale
As Rumkale is settled on a peninsula and its connection to the dike is broken, the Access is by boats from the Kasaba Village, 25 km away from the Yavuzeli district of Gaziantep or from the Halfeti district of Sanliurfa.
To sum up, Rumkale, 25 km away from the district of Yavuzeli in Gaziantep, used as an educational center in the terms when Christianity and Islam were dominant is a place where a number of states have been founded and collapsed and various cultures, nations and religions have existed altogether.
This cultural center having hosted different nations and religions is having its hardest time nowadays. Rumkale covering an area of 3500 km and having survived since 9 BC is in a ruined situation at present.
We, the Silent History team, organized trips to Rumkale to introduce this structure, which is about to be forgotten, and to contribute to create an awareness of history. We had some researches about Rumkale and prepared a brochure, booklet and calendar. We prepared a website. We have been trying to something as children. We require your help and would like to see you with us in this Project.
