8. Results - Solutions

8.1. Access to Rumkale

• The only bridge connecting the village had been put under water. The problem of access to the village has been almost over by now. Compared to the old way of getting there, more modern means have been set.
• Local authorities have built 3 quays so far (one in the East, one in the West and one on the Village's coast)
• All Gaziantep members of the Parliament have been informed with a letter to get their support. Thanks to our endeavors and success in 2006, all the roads connecting to the area were asphalted.
• Road signboards and information plates have been put.
• Local authorities have bought a tourist ship called Kumla with a capacity of 180 people to connect  Zeugma and Rumkale
• When this ship sails between Rumkale and Zeugma Antique City, life around here will enliven
• The ship bought has been launched into the River Euphrates. This will both overcome the transportation problem to the area and let the people coming here see the cultural and natural beauties around in a much more comfortable manner

8.2. Introducing Rumkale

• A concise booklet has been formed as a result of literature survey. Help from the Department of Archeology has been gathered.
• The thesis written in German has been translated into Turkish with the help of our teachers.
• To popularize Rumkale, 2.000 booklets, 5.000 brochures and 1.000 calendars were prepared. All the documents prepared were sent to the authorities in Turkey. Going to the State Schools we could go, we organized meetings to inform them about our project.
• Thanks to our web site, we are planning to reach as many people of the world as possible.
• In one of the excursions organized to the area with 200 people, the group Ephesus Brass of the Izmir Symphony Orchestra gave a concert.
• Silent History team, with the encouraging approaches and honorary supports from authorities, has exhilarated their work
  

8.3. Making People Environmentally Conscious and Investigation of the Biological Characteristics

• A partnership has been set with Gaziantep University to find out the fauna and flora of Rumkale
• In 2005, organizing a conference in our school hall, using a PowerPoint presentation, we shared our knowledge with students both in our and other schools we visited.
• In Gaziantep scale, conferences and seminars were organized.
• To make the villagers environmentally conscious, a partnership study with local authorities has been started.
• Since 2005, restoration and preservation of the place has been continuing.
• Local authorities have started restorations.
• Having the villagers' and volunteers' help, the surrounding land has been afforested.
• Regular visits to the school still continue.

8.4. Meeting the Needs of the Kasaba Village Primary School

• A campaign was set to gather books for the Kasaba Village Primary School's library.
• The surrounding wall was built so that the flock of animals would not disturb the students any more.
• A campaign was set to gather clothes for the students of the Kasaba Village Primary School.
