6. Research about the Project
A team called "Silent History" was formed by Private Sanko Schools' students and teachers having a consciousness of their responsibilities, contemplating, sharing and learning started their activities and prepared a schedule to begin with.
There have been some meetings with the headman of the Kasaba Village and the Provincial Directorate of Gaziantep. An area for the organization of Kasaba Village's surroundings and forestation was required and taken. A campaign for the forestation of the village was stared and the Silent History team carried out this campaign.
The Kasaba Village Primary School was visited and discussions with the students and teachers were made. A campaign for collecting books was started to meet the students' needs and to draw the attention of the target group.
During the meetings with the students and study visits, it was seen that the animals in the village disturbed the Kasaba Village Primary School students and a study was started for possible solutions.
Letters about the project were sent to the members of the parliament and ministries.
Contacts with the local and national press were made, they were informed about the project, the historical values Rumkale has were introduced to and shared with them.
We studied the area through taking photos and recording it with a camera. During the study visit, first examinations and observations about its relation to nature and its physical qualities were made. Furthermore, the effect of climate was observed on the type of the stones used for the castle. In this trip, besides planning the future activities in the project, Rumkale's environmental and biological structure was examined.
