1. Project Summary

Rumkale, a castle having both Christian and Islamic past as an educational centre and built in BC 9 on a peninsula and having hard times nowadays, will be no longer alone! We aim to create an awareness and sensitivity towards Rumkale's transportation problem we realized during a trip to Zeugma. Our project started in November 2004 and we could solve the transportation problems to a great extent by the building of 3 quays, purchase of a ship, covering of the roads with asphalt, etc and is supported by Gaziantep Governorship, Municipalities and Ministry of Culture & Tourism, Transport and other local & national authorities.
